U.S.-Flag Carriage On The Great Lakes Tops 12 Million Tons In June

U.S.-Flag vessels moved more than 12 million tons of dry-bulk cargo on the Great Lakes in June, the highest monthly total in nearly 2 years.  The last time the monthly float topped 12 million tons was August of 2002.

The June total represents an increase of 12 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2003.  Compared against the month's 5-year average, this June is 3.4 percent ahead of the pace.
