June 1 Vessel Report
On June 1, U.S.-Flag Great Lakes carriers had 63 of their 70 ships and tug/barge units in service. This total represents a decrease of one self-propelled tanker and one tug/barge tanker unit compared to a year earlier. The inactive tankers are expected to return to service in June. The Lakes Jones Act fleet is expected to grow further during the month with the activation of a small self-unloader.
