August 1 Total Is New Peak For U.S.-Flag Great Lakes Fleet
The number of U.S.-flag lakers in service on August 1 - 60 -
represents a new peak for the 2004 season. The previous high was 59
vessels on June 1.
The 60 vessels in service on the first of this month
also represent an increase of 6 hulls compared to a year ago. The fleet is
on pace with the month's 5-year average.
One vessel has joined the survey. Hannah Marine Corporation has added the liquid-bulk barge ROBERT DEEGAN to its fleet.
